Description
Set in a small nineteenth-century American town, the story deals with the simple joys and sorrows in a young girl's life. Thirteen-year-old Katy was the sort of girl who might do anything next, so long as it was something exciting! Katie is a handful for her widowed father, Dr. Car and her stern aunt, Izzie, who share responsibility of raising Katy and her siblings. The arrival of her worldly, invalid cousin, Helen, exposes Katy to a world she never knew existed.
