SUMMARY: Portrays the life and character of Robert Stroud, a man who spend 53 of his 72 years in Federal penitentiaries. Shows the change in a difficult and dangerous prisoner after his impulsive rescue of a fledgling sparrow leads to his becoming an authority on birds and their diseases.
