Description
Tradition says that after the world was created, the Tlacuache (opossum) decided to go in search of fire as a gift to men. He went through several villages and came to the top of a mountain to steal a coal from Mrs. Fire. "With the fire men were men and that's how the story began." This legend, analyzed by Maestro Alfredo L�opez Austin, appears in several indigenous traditions.

Dice la tradicion que luego de crearse el mundo, el tlacuache decidio ir en busca del fuego para regaarselo a los hombres. Atraveso varios pueblos y llego a la cima de una montana para robar una brasa a la Senora Lumbre. "Con el fuego los hombres fueron hombres y fue asi como empeo la historia". Esta leyenda, analizada por el maestro Alfredo L�opez Austin, aparece en varias tradiciones ind�igenas. La versi�on que se propone est�a dirigida a los ni�nos mexicanos con el fin de que no olviden las tradiciones y leyendas de su cultura y as�i mantenerlas vigentes entre las nuevas generaciones.
Description
This is an opossum. This animal has hardly changed since it appeared 50 million years ago. It is one of the oldest mammals on earth and with his skillful hands, it can circumvent locks.
