Description
"Someone had made a terrible, tragic, fatal mistake. Unless, of course . . . unless they'd done it on purpose. It's happening again-the thing the city of Freestone fears the most. After generations of relative peace, a new evil has risen in the form of Makiva the witch. She's bent on reopening the doorway to the other planes and bringing about another Day of Dangers-but this time, if she has her way, no one will survive. Zed, trapped in a mythril chain by Makiva herself, is the only mortal who can stop her, but he's cut off from Brock and their friends, and unable to warn them about the witch's plans. When an ordinary day at the market comes to a fatal end as a rare Danger leaves over a dozen dead, the city is thrown into chaos. The threat, much to the horror of our band of apprentices, is found to be coming from within the Adventurers Guild, and tensions come to a boil as even the formidable Alabasel Frond begins to doubt her own people. Certain there's a greater conspiracy afoot, Brock finds himself frustratingly unable to utilize his underground contacts . . . though the mysterious Lady Gray may not be finished with him yet. Zed, meanwhile, tries everything in his meager power to contact Brock and the rest of the apprentices, but can't seem to break through with anyone other than . . . Micah? It's a tenuous partnership, but it will have to do, as time is quickly ticking away. In order to save their city from a timeless evil looking to settle a score, the young adventurers must learn to trust in each other again, and do whatever it takes to stop Terryn's tragic fall to a new Day of Dangers"--
