Description
As targets of the failed hit-job in Utah's Dixie, Brody Conway and Floyd Barker, having become a pair of major liabilities to the drug-trafficking industry, are now languishing in the Washington County jail. After the first attempt on their lives by a copule of his old army buddies proved fruitless, the Chicago drug lord, "Rube" Rubinski decided to dispatch a highly skilled professional to finish the job. Clues as to the identity of the jailhouse killer point toward a man and his wife in a most unlikely locale, Jackson, Wyoming. The killer's increasingly paranoid and obsessive mental state, coupled with his own stumbling detective work, lead him to become a deadly menace to the sheriff's new deputy, Naomi Gentry. It takes the persistence and investigative skills of a sheriff's detective, a patrol deputy, UHP troopers, a laboratory technician, and a somewhat quirky, retired British constable to finally identify and captury the jailhouse killer.
